I must say, that would have been very distracting to me. I know that on our Tuesday nite worlds, I always see some hot chicas walking through the neighborhoods, and it causes me to lose focus just a second. A lot can go wrong in that split second. However, in crits and actual road races, women standing nearby usually don't even get my attention. I bet those TDF riders never noticed them.
