TheDon 07-24-2007, 10:23 AM I just used krylon. I primed it then did a couple coats and a lot of clear coat. PomPilot 07-27-2007, 12:26 PM I just used krylon. I primed it then did a couple coats and a lot of clear coat. You got that good of results from a 'rattle-can'? Which type of Krylon (Metal, Fusion, etc) did you use? Also, what did you use for a clear coat? Your results make me want to consider repainting my old Monkey Wards steed. http://img468.imageshack.us/img468/5906/img01679tt.jpg Maybe use my old school colors. http://www.portlandpilots.com/assets/sports/wsoccer/thumbs/5000.jpg (Purple & white. ) takmanjapan 07-27-2007, 02:17 PM Nice paint -even more so that it came from a ratlle can. Good for you. Now the only thing missing is some Japanese kanji stickers that say Fuji bicycle! Takmanjapan jupiterrn 07-27-2007, 03:15 PM Good job. Rattle cans are getting better all the time with the atomization they are doing. They still can't beat the Pros but that's why they are the Pros. I agree, needs some graphics/stickers. TheDon 07-27-2007, 03:36 PM I used general purpose kylon for it and rustolem clear enamel for a clear coat. What made it turn out so well imho was all the preparation. I spent a lot of time sanding everything down and then sanding between coats. Also, I used 3 coats for each layer. All it tkaes is a lot of patience. I wish I did have stickers too. It was a lot of fun to do. I'd do it again in a heart beat with a few minor adjustments. FatTireFred 07-28-2007, 09:07 AM you painted the headset and cable guides? fyi, for your next job consider car paint... more durable tarwheel2 07-28-2007, 01:18 PM You could order custom decals for your Fuji. Just google it, search on eBay, or post a message in the forums. There are several businesses that can make custom decals for any kind of bike. |
