View Full Version : New Moderator Announcement!
gregg 02-03-2004, 08:25 AM Hey All,
With growing personal and professional responsibilities, DougSloan is retiring as Moderator. Doug will still be around, he just won't have to delete all the "over-the-line" podium girl pics now.
Please help me welcome a New Moderator: J's Haiku Shop! Race organizer, winter bike project builder, Beavis fan, and all around nice guy!
I'm sure you guys won't make him work too hard, right?
Thanks for stepping up J!

PaulCL 02-03-2004, 08:59 AM Actually, we couldn't have a better followup to Doug. Congrats J!
What? You don't have enough to do? :) Thanks for stepping up, and thanks to Doug for doing a thankless job well.
pedlfoot 02-03-2004, 09:18 AM ...RadicalRonPruitt not available? Just kidding.Good luck to you. Thanks to Doug for his outstanding job. :)
Elefantino 02-03-2004, 09:27 AM When I click on the QuickReply icon, I get the "reply with quote" form, just as I do when I hit the regular reply icon. Problem?

Coolhand 02-03-2004, 09:29 AM Congrats!
:)
DougSloan 02-03-2004, 09:38 AM Thanks everyone for the kind thoughts. I'm sure JSH will do fine.
With a new baby arriving in 2 weeks, a 19 month old at home, several big trials lined up, and trying ever so hard to ride a little I just didn't think I could or should keep up here as much. Plus, I think there is nothing wrong with new blood now and then.
I'll be around now and then, just not as much.
Doug

gregg 02-03-2004, 09:49 AM Hmmmm...worked for me. There is a checkbox at the bottom to include reply or not, not sure if that's what you're referring to.
BowWow 02-03-2004, 09:52 AM J, I'm sure you'll do a great job - but will you stop riding?
SpecialTater 02-03-2004, 10:09 AM We'll get him drunk enough to blab the password!
Congrats, J....Local Club Pres and RBR Moderator

The King is Dead, Long Live the King.
eyebob 02-03-2004, 12:13 PM Good, perhaps now we can have fewer limits on our free speech, but, knowing J, I fear that this will mean more and more and more picture posts :)

PseuZQ 02-03-2004, 12:46 PM ...........
Len J 02-03-2004, 12:50 PM no message
Spinfinity 02-03-2004, 12:58 PM Lots more work, but my mother-in-law raised 9 and says that after the third one it doesn't seem to matter how many there are. Keep up the good work.
gtscottie 02-03-2004, 01:02 PM Thanks Doug
J glad to see you step up
PdxMark 02-03-2004, 01:46 PM Thanks Doug and J.
J, how about an inauguration, or is that coronation, haiku?
MarkS 02-03-2004, 02:27 PM to Doug for a (largely) thankless job that was well done. After your playing parent to all of the posters on this board, another baby should be a piece of cake
to J for agreeing to do the job. Enjoy your honeymoon while it lasts. As you know, the monitor can get a lot of grief -- fast.
You will not find a stronger First Amendment advocate than I am. But, on a private (i.e., non-governmental) forum such as this one, I appreciate the moderator's efforts to keep things within reasonable standards.

This is what I get when I hit quick reply. Hmm.
Elefantino 02-03-2004, 04:33 PM Gregg:
It's my doofy office computer. Works fine at home!
Mel Erickson 02-03-2004, 06:16 PM Many thanks to Doug for a thankless job and congrats on the new child on the way.
J is a great choice for moderator. Here's to the two of you.
joe friday 02-03-2004, 07:02 PM i've enjoyed this forum for it's better than average maturity level, best of luck to all of those who choose to follow!!

No offense to Doug, but I'm looking forward to the J'sHS era. Things might be a bit more wild and wooly. The Moderator is Dead! Long Live the Moderator!
Spoiler 02-03-2004, 10:18 PM thanks in advance.

Come on js, it's like taking a Porsche out for a test ride. Why not goose it just once to get the feel?
While we're at it, why not let Doug give someone the boot just for old-time's sake?
Spoiler 02-03-2004, 10:21 PM Thanks everyone for the kind thoughts. I'm sure JSH will do fine.

So basically, your giving up about 100 adult kids for adoption in exchange for one infant. Good bargain. You're welcome to come back and delete any of my posts, just to feel young and powerful again.
almccm 02-03-2004, 11:13 PM Condolences J

gregg 02-04-2004, 04:04 PM Probably a firewall setting, I bet.
Thanks to both Doug and J. I've been a good tenant.
Overhill 02-06-2004, 06:19 PM Thank you Doug. Best wishes.
Good luck J. If you moderate as well as you ride, you will be great.
