I have a jersey that is semi-ruined because the adhesive used to stick a race number on my back refuses (after two washings) to come out. It's even still sticky.

Any hints about how to remove leftover adhesive without destroying the jersey?

Thanks

Goo Be Gone. Usually found at any grocery store or hardware store. Just a thought.

WD40 will dissolve a lot of that kind of stuff. I've used it to take tar off jeans, and it didn't stain those. Can't speak for polyester, though.

I think WD40 will probably destroy it.

Just wear the jersey, and wash it a few more times, it will wear down after awhile (the sticky stuff), and next time just use pins.

Just curious what type of glue you used.. I'm thinking of gluing a number on for a TT coming up and would like to know what works. I'm not too worried about wrecking the skinsuit much, but it would be nice to keep. I've heard 3M's 77 spray works

Sorry for the small thread hijack

Goo Gone would be my 1st choice, although I admit to never having used it on clothing. I'd dampen the jersey, squirt it liberally with Goo Gone, then rub it gently. Maybe let it sit for 5 min or so. If that didn't work, I'd spray full strength Simple Green on it, let it sit, brush it, then throw it in the wash. I use full strength Simple Green on my Jerseys whenever I get tar, grease, etc. on them. It works great, won't harm the fabric.
