Momentum Cycling is the new UCI pro track cycling team in the LA area. Travis Smith, Jennie Reed, Adam Duvendeck and Josiah Ng are the 4 international sprinters that make up the team.
In conjunction with this, Momentum Cycling of California is a new local club team (Road & Track). We will be starting regular Saturday AM rides on August 11th and hopefully reopening Racing School on the track at ADT on the 22nd or 29th of September. These rides will be under the direction of Peter Maharaj and fully supported by those of us who have an interest in the development of our kids. This is a great opportunity and the rides will be open to everyone who is interested in participating but will specifically be geared to espoirs & junior development but not to exclude anyone.
We hope that all of you who have participated in the Major Motion training and other training rides over the years are more then welcome regardless of your team/club affiliation. Club affiliation is of no consequence. Dave Pulliam and I have agreed to promote these rides to members of both of our clubs, but despite being repetitive; We want all juniors, their parents, single speeders, bike messengers, and any other riders with interest in joining us to participate. Come on and take it to the next level.
The first ride will be a relatively easy paced flat get together starting at PCH and 2nd Street at the Marina at 7:30 am Saturday Aug 11th and will be a paceline ride. This is a great ride to learn the basic fundamentals of a paceline. According to Frank Moir this ride will have sixty plus riders and we can tag along and have the juniors set whatever pace they are comfortable with. This ride may or may not have a SAG vehicle but as a rule we will always have that available for fluids/repairs or lifts.
