I am a first time roadie looking to buy my 1st road bike and do it right. I am debating between a specialized tarmac expert or roubaix. I am not sure how far I will be riding since this is new to me. It will be on flat ground though thats for sure. I am looking for a comfortable ride though that is the main concern. Which would be best?

For comfort, the carbon framed Roubaix (the base Roubaix Triple has an alloy/carbon frame) gets the node. Not just from the extra comfort due to the way the carbon frame is made (as opposed to the Tarmac) but from a geometry that sits the ride up more. It's less "Race" oriented.
Having said that, I quite pleased with the ride, handling and comfort of my Tarmac Expert. I've only ridden it two short 30+ mile ride since I got it Late this past Friday. That's not enough time to really say a LOT but, I can tell I like the bike a lot.

if this is your first bike I'd look at the sirrus line if most of your ride are smooth easy stuff use the extra cash for cool gear.
