All the attention in the tour has been given to the old men (in elite cycling your on your last leg once you hit 30).
Jan has maybe 2 more years
This may be Hamiltons last shot
LA has this shot, and one more at best.
Other than LA, a lot of the old farts had trouble today. Lots of trouble!
I've been thinking about this while watching the tour over the last week. For the last few years it's been the same old shootout, with the same cast of characters. Where is the new blood? Surely next year the attention will not be on the same old stars, most are getting long in the tooth and should retire after this tour.
After stage 12 I think some of the young riders will be more serious threats this year than expected, by next year I think they will be the riders to watch.
Look at the GC and who's in there:
Voeckler is still there - I thought it was a fluke and he would loose the yellow today - He hung tough, maybe he can hang tough tomorrow.
Casar - Casar who! Again he has been hanging tough ever since the winning breakaway.
Kloden - Where did this guy come from! I though he was a domestique.
Bosso - Again another name I did not know of till today.
I would like to see at least one of the young guys make the podium. I'm surprised we did not hear more about them before the race, but it's hard to hear anything but stuff about LA.
Who else will be the young GC rider to watch this year and next.
PS: LA will finish with the yellow the way it should be. If so I hope he retires while on top
