I'll be in Denver for a couple of days in august and I'm hoping to ride some while in town. Google Earth is a great tool, and I'm thinking about riding from W 32nd & Sheridan, up Lariat Loop Rd., then up Colorow Rd. down to N. Lookout Mtn. Rd. and back... (maybe all the way down ,<or is it up?> :D to S. Lookkout Mt. & Hwy. 40 and back.
Because I'm visiting family I may not be able to do longer rides or in more scenic places. We'll see... in the meantime, this is one I'm hoping to do.
Suggestions/ recommendations welcome. :)

good choice. Lookout (Lariat rd) is somewhat of a staple around here so you're pretty much guarenteed to see lots of people. If you have a little more time, take a right onto 40 and go up to the end of the road (genessee rd?). Take a left and go over the highway, and first right up genesee mtn road. Its out and back to the top but a nice little addition that also gives you some views for your money. Actually, if you stay on genesee mtn rd on the way back, it turns into genesee trail rd. follow that till genesee vista. take a left then left onto genesee trail all the way till you see the bridge over I70 and viola you're back on 40. Sounds confusing but you stay on genesee trail till you t-junction, take a left, t-junction, take a left. And the descent is much more fun than just tucking on 40.
Other options are to do golden gate canyon or if you're prepared to drive - bergen park up Squaw
have fun

It sounds confusing but looking at the map makes perfect sense! I'll give it a try for sure, thanks for the input :)
