I am going to be building up a new bike soon (Cannondale Six13) and just got a 07 Campy Chorus group with UT crankset. I have built up bikes before, but never any with Campy. I thus have the standard tools but am curious if I will need tools specially designed for Campagnolo. I have read conflicting reports on these forums so I want to try to get it all straight.
I figure I will need a new cassette install tool, but I can't get a consensus on if I will need a special tool for installing and removing the UT crankset system. Any other parts I might need a special tool for? Anyone with some advice? Thanks!

Assuming you have a bike shop prep the bottom bracket shell, you really just need a torque wrench, a 10mm hex key socket, and an extension. You also need locktite for the cups.

The bottom bracket cups install with the same tool as shimaNo, FSA, and SRAM cups. Campy sells a tool, but the Park tool works just as well. Find a friend who has installed their own Dura Ace crankset. Shimano includes a tool with the crankset. The 10mm cinch bolt needs some heavy torque. Use a torque wrench.

You can also go to your LBS and ask them if they have any of the Shimano BB cup installation tools--they'll probably just give you one, because they get one with every one they install. My shop had a whole box of them. Tried to give me one for each side.:D
I wound up getting the Park tool that works with a torque wrench because I like to use the torquer when I can, but the Shimano one will definitely work. You might want to go over it with some emery paper, though--the one I got had some burrs and would have scratched the outside of the cups. The Park tool was totally smooth.
