I have a racelite and it is by far one of the best bikes I have ever ridden, the only downside is the price of buying a new one. Blue's are okay, the guys behind them are really great to deal with. People tend to like Blues but I've never heard an owner go out of his way to recommend them. They are also really affordable. Kuotas high end models are really nice and the lower end are "just another bike" (quote from a friend who was given one to ride). Try and ride all three before you decide, or just call Guru and get a custom. DIRT BOY 08-01-2007, 07:05 AM Guru makes amazing bikes, they aren't that common around here. I saw 3 this weekend and a RC4 and everyone had nothing but priase for the $$. I agree on the Kotas. The lower ends are better than just another bike, but are on par with any nice CF bike. The top tier bikes are super sweet!! jmoryl 08-01-2007, 08:14 AM Gurus are very nice, made in Quebec by the people who design them. The other two are designed by one bunch and subcontracted out to Taiwan (not that that makes them bad, they are quite good from what I hear). manhattanproj 08-01-2007, 06:25 PM do you guys buy blue from their website? is kuota lower end model really just another bike? the kharma has gotten pretty good reviews. Tri Slow Poke 08-02-2007, 03:46 AM What models are you looking at from each manufacturer? It may not be fair to compare one's lower end bike with another's top shelf ride. gumdad 08-02-2007, 08:02 AM I have a Kuota Kebel, built with full SRAM Force and Ksyrium ES, and it is a really sweet bike. Plenty stiff and light, and still really comfy after 4+ hours in the saddle. I get lots of compliments on it, and at my weekly crit last night a LBS owner said he is now carrying them, and they are selling well. Their models, from the top down, are KOM, Kredo, Kebel and Kharma. I don't think they make a bad bike. A friend of mine has a Guru, and it is a really nice bike as well. Yet he has admired my Kuota on many occasions, and I paid a LOT less than he did. If not contact them to see if they can help you. I did, but it was on a pro-deal. JayC 08-19-2007, 07:30 PM I have a Blue RC6.. freakin great bike. I had a Blue RC4 which was also a great bike. Ive built up a lot of bikes and the Blues are my constant. I wouldnt have upgraded my RC4 if I hadnt gotten a crazy deal on the RC6. http://meankidsracing.com/d/1507-1/blue1.jpg My old RC4 http://meankidsracing.com/d/1679-2/P3140021.JPG My RC6 dbmather 08-19-2007, 07:42 PM +1 on Gumdad's comments on Kuota Kebel - really like mine, find it to be a fine bike for hammering, but also very nice for century rides. libertycycles 08-20-2007, 12:45 PM JayC, What size is your RC6? I'm building up a wicked fast large RC6 w/Force-Rival mix and will ride my 808s from by tri bike. I'll post pics in the next week once it's complete so everyone can bash how rediculous it looks w/80mm rims. To me it looks BA. Thats all that matters, right? I've followed your posts on tires. libertycycles DIRT BOY 08-23-2007, 07:40 AM :D Nice Dirt, Do you commute on this? Looks like a light clamp on the seatpost. If so, nice commuter. I leave the house around 5:30am to ride to beat the heat in the summer and get to get back early enough for the wife to workout/ride and have the rest of the day for the family. Going to start 5am for this fall for Football season! Possibly some Token, Neuvation C50 or other Taiwanese wheels. If I like DD Carbon, then LEW or Reynolds. Price on the TOKEN is hard to beat. |
