Phil can be. He makes these grand pronouncements as if they will happen without doubt. Just watching the replay - he made so many today that were way off :O)

View Full Version : Kind of funny how wrong .... Live Steam 07-16-2004, 02:35 PM Phil can be. He makes these grand pronouncements as if they will happen without doubt. Just watching the replay - he made so many today that were way off :O) FatSlowGuy 07-16-2004, 05:57 PM That's why I love the guy, he is not afraid to through it out there. mohair_chair 07-16-2004, 07:24 PM Phil can be. He makes these grand pronouncements as if they will happen without doubt. Just watching the replay - he made so many today that were way off :O) I'm sure his call of the replay would be a lot different than his call of the live action. Funny how that works. AJS 07-16-2004, 08:51 PM C'mon LS - don't you have something better to do (like get stupid on the PO board) than to jump on the greatest commentator in sports since Howard Cosell? Phil makes mistakes. So does Paul. So does Bobke. So did Howard. Trautwig doesn't count because he's just window dressing. Phil & Paul are the best you'll ever find, so be glad they're here for now. When they're gone we'll have something to really b!tch about. Live Steam 07-17-2004, 02:38 AM Man lighten up everyone. I like Bob and Paul as much as the next person. I just find it to be funny when he makes these grand pronouncements like "Armstrong won't have a chance at taking the stage today, but he will be happy with putting time into his rivals." This was way before LA was seperated from the group with Basso. Well LA could have taken the stage. I think Paul said something like "Lance will definitely not be giving this one away because of the 20 second time bonus." There were plenty of others. Hey we all know hindsight is 20/20. I know they get all wrapped up in the moment. That's what makes them who they are. But they are really way off many times and I find it kind of funny :O) |
