I ride a 2007 Mercier Galaxy with Panaracer Pasela Tour Guard tires 700x28c. I have about half inch clearance between the top of tire and brake. What I am wanting to know is would a 32c be wider then a 28c or just taller. Does anyone have experience with the bike I ride. Ive been told 28 is about the biggest but thats a guess from the people who have told me. Would a 32 be better to ride on flat trails with gravels and small rocks that I would try to avoid the rocks because I want to start commuting but the 28 are questionable on this terrain.

Tires are mostly round. The 32c is both wider and taller than a 28c. Tire sizes may not be the same from different manufactuers. If 28s are too narrow, go as large as you can.

If they'll fit, go for the Pasela TG 700X32C

How do the Pasela TG's compare to the Urban Max (both Panaracer)? For the same size tire (700x32c, 700x28c, etc.), they run the same max PSI. I've had the Urban Max on my Jamis Coda Elite for nearly 3,700 miles without a single flat. I am considering the purchase of a road/cross bike, and I would like a durable 700x28c tire that is reasonably fast (but not expected to be race fast).
