am I splitting hairs here?
I am looking for a set of carbon tubulars for cyclocross this fall and was ready to order a set of the Neuvation C50's. I can also get the Token T50's as well for a little less $$ than Neuvation.
Main difference looks to be the Token are using Sapim CX-Ray spokes vs Neuvations DT Comps.
Neuvation will have much better customer service and a rim replacement policy - (I think I just answered my own question)

Here are the specs -

Neuvation:
50 mm carbon rim
Stainless spokes DT Competition 2.0-1.8.
Alloy nipples, brass drive-side nipples.
6 Cartridge bearings.
Front hub 100 grams - Rear Hub 265 grams.
Rims 440 grams.
With quick releases - Without rim strips - 700C tubular
$175 rim replacement

SAPIM CX-Ray black Spokes & SILS Nipples

Same rims: WH-005 directly from Gigantex' wheel brand called Equinox.
Token doesn't make anything - they're just a distributor.

Sapim CX-Rays for cross is overkill, IMO. I'd get the Neuvations, personally.

Rims look good. I bought two sets of those rims from my contact in Taiwan. The rim also appears on the Pro-Lite Gavias.

Look at neuvation's C48's they may have the Sapim spokes. Call John and ask him. Think i am getting the 38's later this week.

Yea, the C38's have Sapim CX-Ray spokes - but they would cost me an additional $250.

Go with Neuvation. If for no other reason, you can pick up the phone and talk to someone capable of making a decision if you need service.

what is the main value proposition for going carbon in cross?

I ended up ordering the Tokens for a few reasons.

1. I really prefer using Sapim CX-Ray spokes. I had several mountain bike wheels built
using these spokes and never broke a singe spoke - wheels using other spokes I have
broken.

2. Even thought I was able to get Team pricing on either the Neuvation or Tokens - In the
end the Token's were still less expensive by close to $75 each wheel

I ordered the T50's (tubular) for my cross bike and the C50 (full carbon clincher) for my road bike.....so now I'll need to sell my clincher Ksyriums SL's
