Hi! New poster and fairly new rider here.

I bought a new bike this year that I am very happy with. It came with AlexRims R500. While riding, I hit a ditch/lip on the road and whacked the heck out of the back rim. Couldn't be completely trued/dished at the LBS . It is functional, but just touches the frame on each rotation.

I am looking for a replacment wheel. The AlexRim it came with is OEM and can't be bought from the Manufacture (according to my LBS). I am looking for a comparable or better wheel that is black with black spokes to match the front wheel (until I get around to replacing the front wheel).

I am looking to stay at or below $150 and to date, the best I have seen is the Ritchey DS Comp.

I really don't know that much about wheels and was wondering if anyone had any advice or thoughts on this.

I am a casual/recreational rider, riding 20-30 miles a trip, 3 or 4 times a week.

thanks for your help.

Doesn't sound like you need anything more than a new rim. Try to buy the same rim, and if it isn't available look for another shallow rim with an ERD of ~598mm. You can probably use all the old spokes and nipples. It's a great opportunity to get a little wheelbuilding practice...

I think that Schwinn uses them on some of their road bikes. You might be able to have a Schwinn dealer rebuild your wheel with the same rim. How many holes in the rim?

or you can buy a new wheel.
