That said, my Elans have hardly ever had to be trued. You obviously have less fine adjustment because of less points along rim but the rims are pretty tough. I crashed mine last fall when both wheels went into an expansion joint about 3" deep. The braking surface got some deep scratches but the wheels didn't eve go out of true. Mine have about 6K miles on them. Dicky dirtrider 08-10-2007, 12:12 PM This will be the case with most Rolfs. The tire/rim tape must be removed. If the rim is already straight then there isn't a problem, but otherwise it's more difficult to remove imperfections via spoke tension when there are longer spans between spokes. |
