I picked up the rest of my parts from the shop and chased the BB threads yesterday at lunch then got home and spent a couple more hours building it up and putting the finishing touches to the bike. I am still waiting on the White Industries Ti BB, Freewheel, new stem and seatpost, so right now there is a cheapo Shimano BB, ACS Freewheel and low end stem and post. The bikes weighed in at 17.3 lbs and from listed weights should be about 1 to 1 1/2 lbs lighter with the better components. I also have to pick up a front cable housing hanger today as I didn't have one.
The ride was incredible, we designed this bike around the Salsa Las Cruces I have been riding for the past two years that I loved. The Salsa though was a little two rigid and unforgiving for me so I wanted something with a better feel and ride. The Geometry is spot on for fit, it climbs fast and nimble, feels light and agile and descends great (at fast as I felt comfortable without a front brake). This is my 3rd custom frame, 1st non-mountain bike one, and it amazes me every time how when you jump on a bike built for you how much it just fits. I have ridden a lot of bikes and it always seems like no matter how good the bike is you just feel like there is something you could tweak or change on a manufactured bike. If you have never gone the route of custom you are missing a great pleasure in life. I also find the cost is not much more than a off the shelf bike, especially when you factor in the work that a custom builder goes through. In terms of cost of frames or bikes, Sean at Vertigo is doing it based on what you want, give him a call or email and he can discuss all that with you.
One of my favorite features about the bike is the rear triangle, it is so sexy!
Here are a few more pictures, you can see full size images in my picasa web album (also lost's of CX pics from the NW scene)

I got it out on the trails and a CX practice this past weekend, the bike is everything I wanted and more. It railed singletrack like my mountain bikes, it was comfortable in the rough stuff, it felt nimble and fast and it feels light and stiff.
Can't wait to get home to ride it again!
Here are some more pictures from the mountain bike ride, a couple are a little blurry.
