When life gets overwhelming and you are overstressed there is only one thing that can cure it my book(legally anyway) and that is a weekend on the bike. And what better way than a self sustained mini bike tour.

Destination: Colorado Trail Segment One.
Trail Description: 4 miles of road/MUT from my front door - 6 or so miles through the state park to Waterton Canyon trailhead - 7 miles up the canyon to start of Segment 1.
Mission: Get as far as we can with a loaded trailer and a soon to be 6yr old on a trail a bike
Biggest hangup: Narrowing down the toy selection that the 6yr old was allowed to bring

Did he actually end up playing with very many of the toys up there in the woods?

BTW I'm not going to ask you if he loved it, only how much did he love it?

He chose wisely as all of his toys were earth movers/construction vehicles. That said he spent more time playing with his "fire stick" than anything else.

He had a blast but we went camping this weekend as well and he asked his mom "Do we have to carry all of our stuff on our bikes again?"

Where did you camp?
We made it to the first campsite on Segment 1. Only a couple miles in but about 20 miles from the start of the ride. Big site with a stream to filter water from.
