I'm gonna guess that the New Boston results will take some time like the Milford results, hopefully not 2 weeks though.

I think that I'm the only dope who doesn't check his own results PRIOR to leaving the race for the day. Prolly because I never will place high enough to have any sort of bragging rights.

eco cross results are on bikereg as of when I just checked.

I also think they switched you and me, colin, cause I didn't do that well and you did. (in the open race).

nah, they missed counting one of my laps entirely. i should be 16th, not 29th. anyway, that's what I get for eating it big time right in front of the finish tent. they were probably so shocked i got up they forgot to write my number.

Unless you know something I don't know, you were 24th. Just move my name from 29th to 16th on the results, so you move down a slot.

Like I said afterward I lapped a guy who wasn't you, so you couldn't have been DFL unless he dropped out.

i swear, i was the last person to cross the finish line. as in, i finished, the officials said "all done" and started packing stuff up. I was also the last person not to get lapped twice. maybe the pulled people who were lapped twice? maybe you lapped said individual before he got lapped a second time?

thats why i thought i was dfl, since i finished and they said (well, actually before I even crossed the finish line) all in or all done or something like that.

you gotta remember that dfl and last person in are not the same thing. think about the scenario in which the leader only laps the last placed rider -- then the rider who was actually dfl will stop soon after the leader despite being in last place.

i think you were probably the last person to avoid going 2 laps down, so everyone behind you got passed by matt white twice and thus got to stop before you.

... on Bikereg (http://www.bikereg.com/Results/2007/09/23-Bedford-Springs-Cyclocross.asp). Unfortunately they got the results wrong after for 4th place causing most of us to move down a position. Despite myself and another racer bringing this up to the officials after they posted the results it went unchanged. I'm not sure if it was a lapped rider or what. Much more so than losing a point to upgrade to the 3s, I was disappointed at the casual shrug off from the officials when I brought this up to them. End of my complaint. It is only a Cat 4 beginner men's race and it is early in the season. That Bedford event was much fun and I am happy to race cyclocross.

Good attitude. I'm afraid that tracking hundreds of racers and keeping lapped riders straight is a really hard task for organizers -- and with many races back-to-back, it's really hard for them to spare the manpower to investigate results problems when they need all hands on deck for the next race.

Nevertheless, it does suck to get blown off by officials who don't seem to understand how much racers value correct results -- earlier this year at a mountain bike race, I noticed that the winning 40-49 guy's time was ~8 minutes faster than me, yet his group started 6 minutes behind me and no one passed me. So I told the officials that that time couldn't be right, and the response I received was an extremely defensive, "don't worry about it. it's not your category, it doesn't affect your place."

Didn't exactly inspire confidence that they were more interested in correctness over hoping for the protest period to expire.

.

just to be clear. its NOT the job of the organizer/promoter to take care of scoring. this is the job of the USAC officials that were hired for the event. this is part of what they get paid to do.

Just noticed another, more glaring, error -- Rebecca Wellons was 2nd behind Lyne Bessette but was incorrectly placed 10th, 1 lap down. Weird.

yeah... thats pretty bad.

all the more reason of why its important to check your results before you leave :)

also, if you happen to be the "lucky" one who got a good result when you know you were lapped... be a nice guy & let the officials know. i remember a couple years ago getting hosed on the results... and some dude standing next to me said "well, they screwed me up soo many times, i deserve this (fake) result". ugh.

i cant imagine how hard it must be to score a cx race as on official.....much worse than a road race i guess. all im saying is it cant be easy, but i would hope they take it seriously and try to get it right.

upon seeing it, I had no idea cory/I got within 10 seconds of the leader. I thought he had at least 30. And that we put 35 seconds into the harborside guy....he was with us near the start of the bell lap.

uh that's because she was a lap down and finished 10th atmo.

Did she have a mechanical at the start, then? When I started watching, around the 3rd lap, she was riding at the front with Bessette, and while Bessette eventually dropped her she didn't get passed by anyone and certainly didn't get lapped.

If I'm wrong about this one, then I apologize for bringing it up as an error! I guess this just shows how hard it is to score these things, I was sure (as a spectator) that she was riding 2nd.

Sadly....they also get paid NOT to do thier job ( I need a job like that).
Some of NE's best officials were there Sunday. But they are human and mistakes happen.
There was a mess up done by the promoters when doing the age catergories...but they got on it to fix it.
It is YOUR job to make sure the results are right.
BUT....is it really worth squabbling over 5 seconds or whether you were 88 or 89th out of 90(probably not)
