Bought a pair of used AC 350 wheels that were used for 3 years. The rear bearings feel rough and I'd like to change the bearings myself if possible.
Does anyone have a link to some instructions and schematics. Thanks.
go to the american classic web site http://www.amclassic.com/pdfs/17mmHubOverhaul.pdf the bottom of the first page has the directions to bearing removal. Take some photos of your change and post.

Should I just order them from AC? I'll be glad to post pics if others are interested, but that pdf link you gave has pics better than I could take.
I've built up several bikes from the frame up, but never worked with wheels that weren't cup/cone. Looks like this is pretty straightforward.
But what I don't get is that instruction at the top of the pdf that says I should do this with the wheels mounted on the frame. What's that all about?
boca bearings sells them online, do a search. or check for the nearest dealer listed on the website. the AC website gives the bearing sizes so just look to match that. i would recommend you use box end wrenches if you can get them to fit.

Thanks, but that's more than I was expecting to spend. Maybe I can take the seals off and just relube?
visit the american classic site at http://www.amclassic.com/pdfs/BearingSpecs.pdf your just chasing the bearing size. if you do a search for just the size you can find http://www.vxb.com/page/bearings/PROD/17mm/6803RS which will fit the new style or http://www.diymtb.com.au/static/EnduroBearingList.asp if scroll down to where it says 15x26x7 am classic you see your bearings. cheaper but not free. there are others do a search.

Thanks for your help. The wheels are circa 2003 or 2004, so I think I need the 6803 C3. I did a search for those but only came up with variations of the 6803, such as the 6803 2RS or 6803 Max...are these the same or close enough?
probably close enough. But go to the american classic website look for a dealer near you, see if they have a website and order through them. or do a long search for the bearing size. lots of luck.
