I was rumaging through the garage today (its on the honey-do list) and I found a box of really old cycling stuff, behind the box were four rims. They are not new, they had been built into wheels over 15 years ago, but were taken apart for whatever reason. I dug them out and cleaned them up to inspect them. There are three Matrix ISO Tubular 32-hole rims and one Matrix ISO Tubular 28-hole rim. They appear to be in good shape with no cracks or defects near the spoke holes and not too much wear or any dings in the braking surface.
I am just trying to figure out if they are worth building up into some cheap spare wheels with some cheap hubs, or if they deserve better. I do not need four more rims to stretch tires on. Any one have any thoughts?

Only if you are not paying for the build. IMO New spokes and labor thrown at used wheels is a bad move..

This would be a self build, probably some cheap asian hubs from ebay and some cheap butted Wheelsmith or DT spokes.

If you already have enough sew up wheels, just sell them, or save them for a rainy day. I've got more rims than I every will ever need (even if I start crashing four times a year, again)
