I don't wnat flame wars on speed/performance gained, etc.

I will use these for long fast solo rides. I have to deal with crosswinds as well. Pretty strong as well at times.

So 38mm or 50mm? I think 3
I know will handle better in the crosswinds, but are 50mm rims that more aero that I should be leaning towards them and deal with CW and learn to handle them.

I am on 25mm rims now. These will be tubular.

Also the 38mm come with standard spokes. Should I get bladed/aero spokes instead. I like the looks better and wonder wil it make any difference besides looks.

Thanks!

I have some 38mm wheels, a set of 50s, and a set of 85s. The 85s are obviously relegated to my TT bike. I ride in somewhat windy conditions, and find that the 38s are much more controllable in sidewinds, especially when descending is involved.

You could always do a 38mm front, and a 50-60mm rear, as it won't affect handling as much that way...

I like my Zipp 404's (58 mm). I have been riding them on the Georgia coast for 3 years. It can get really windy here and my 404's do not give me a problem. I also have a set of Ksyrium SSC SL's that are a b!thch in cross windes due to the bladed spokes.

Its pretty windy where I live. I have both 38mm rims and deeper. Neither are really a problem in the wind. The deeper rims just require more attention and rider input in very strong winds.

The deep rims are a chick magnet...It's not the size, but how you use it! :D.

Then again looks catches your eyes first right? :p

direct with TOKEN. These are 50mm Tubular wheels. I will post weight and pictures when they arrive in a few days.

I know KMan here got some C50 and T50 as well and has repoted to be very happy with them.

The pricing was just too good pass up for sub 1475g deep carbon tubular w/ ceramic bearings! :D

I can't build carbon tubular at this depth, weight and price.

Gio,
My Token T50's just showed up Saturday...and off to the shop to have my cyclocross tires mounted :)

Weight were as follows:
C50's - F 675g R 899g = 1574g
T50's - F 630g R 836g = 1466g

Build looks as good as anything else out there - Sapim CX-Ray spokes which I am a hugh fan of.

Right now I only have about 300 miles on the C50's and nothing negitive I could say so far - a little front brake squeal....but definately faster wheels than my Mavic Ksyrium SL's. and I only gained 30 grams in making the switch (including skewers, brake pads etc.)

Once I get my T50 tires mounted I post some pictures of the complete bikes:
Orbea Cyclocross bike
Orbea Orca Road bike
