I will be there as well. A great event but usually pretty crowded. So many parts, so little money....

There is a mix of large retail/online stores liquidating last years stuff and small shops or private citizens cleaning out their garage. Road to Mtn and anything inbetween.

Last year Bobby Ullrich (sp) was there sell off some old CSC gear for charity and signing autographs. I thought about buying one of his old jerseys (he was only charging like $25) but he aparently has the Kate Moss's shoulders! Cool guy talked to him for a couple of minutes.

The Navigators were also there selling off last years gear. They had team kits for $50 a piece. They were also selling their C-50's with full Record groups for $2500! If I had just bought my BMC I would have been walking out with one of those.

Greg Lemond rolled through on his bike for a little... There is definitely more to it than just the swap meet.

I always have a couple things that need replacing at the end of the season, so I try to hold out and see what I find a the swap. If i can't find it there then I'll turn elsewhere. Its a really good place to pick up clothing because it seems LBS's as a whole don't do a good job stocking high quality bibs and jerseys.

In the past, Cannondale has shown up and blown out jerseys for ~$10 or something crazy like that. Hubby found a really cool topo map jersey there.

Gates open at 8.30. In my past experience all the good stuff is gone pretty quickly.

Scammed my way in early somehow, did not have a real plan for buying anything. Some hats, winter gloves, set of Suzue hubs $15, a bike stand/holder, slightly used gatorskin tires $10 for the pair I think, shades that broke about 1 week later $6. Was looking for vintage wool stuff, none worth buying. It just depends upon what you have in mind, a guy with nothing and lots of needs can clean up.

I probably sold you an extra ticket we had and made you carry in some stuff.

I may have an extra vendor ticket to get someone in early this year.

I think, hung around for a bit, asked the guy at the gate (he had no idea what he was doing) where i could find my buddies both, he refered me to some lady with a radio who walked me into the infield, i found his booth (he no showed the event) and she left me there. So there i was inside, no ticket, with free run of the place. I honestly did not see any hot deals to be had early. I saw alot of junk parts, marginal bikes, tons of clothing, expensive bikes, etc.

I think the most interesting site I saw was an asian man selling alu and ti frames based upon your specs. Sort of custom frames. He had stock frames too, but you told him what you wanted and he made the arrangements to build it and you worked out delivery and payment info.

On big ticket items it is like the guy that has a so called coveted baeball card. Value? The most money you can get for it.
