Okay. I'm itching to upgrade. Does anyone think this would be a decent upgrade? I'm about 190 lbs, and now i'm doing about 6-8 hours per week on the bike. I don't race, but want improved wheels, that will last for a long time.
Can anyone please expand on the performance, stiffness, comparison of these two wheels?
thanks very much

I have both and generally like the Ksyriums better because of the "snap" they give me when I hit the gas. It may be mental but the Ksyriums just seem to give more back on the pedal stroke than the R28s. Otherwise they are both pretty good sets of wheels. The Mavic wheels will look better and have more features (real and imagined) but they also cost lots more.
Some people complain about the freehubs dragging but if you notice the freehub dragging you're probably coasting too much.
As for durability, be advised, you will probably have to replace the Mavic freehub at some point. Mine lasted ~5000 miles before getting wobbly. The replacement cost $50 if you do it yourself. It's easy to do and only requires standard tools (i.e. hex wrenches). Here is a link that describes the issue:

Otherwise these wheels have stood up to loads of abuse - potholed roads, rain and commuting (combining both). They are still true and roll very well.
