Hey all,

I decided to rebuild/repaint my single speed last weekend...It was a bit beat up before, and the previous paint job didnt turn out as expected. It was basically clear coated steel, with black lugs. Looked ok...but i must have touched the frame a couple times, and it started corroding from the fingerprints.

So, right now, i am looking at a combination of three colors....Satin black tubes....gloss black lugs, and sunshine yellow highlighs on the lugs....

anyways, to the point of my post.....does anyone have a good way of masking the lug areas for paint? My only thought is using pinstriping tape from an auto body shop....any other ideas?

Thanks all!

why not just put a screw in therewhile you paint, and remove it before the paint drys

I did the masking tape, carved out the outline of the lug with the exacto, painted and then used thinner on a que tip to clean of any excess paint. Let the lug paint dry and peel off the tape.
