Starts TdF with a hard crash, and seemingly confirms that he's not exactly Hans Rey on the bike. Chaotic TTT for Phonak, marked by approximately 67 tire punctures. Faithful companion Tugboat passes away during Tour. Slogs through 1.25 stages of the Pyrenees, then drops out of his primary objective of the season, on the day that his charitable foundation is showing the Tour in theatres across the country. Now, an uncorroborated doping allegation:

Given the July summarized above, wouldn't it have been good form for this guy to at least sit on his allegation from 7 years ago for maybe another couple of weeks?
