I'm looking at upgrading my old chromo bike and these are the two bikes that I've narrowed it down too. The Trek has All Ultegra except the Front Derailleur is 105. It has carbon seat stays and the beautiful Rolf Wheels.
The Specialized has a carbon seat post in place of the seat stays and is completely Ultegra. They both feel great to me and I'm having a hard to deciding  . The Specialized is about $60 more than the Trek. What do you all think?

What's the warranty on the Specialized? I know Trek is lifetime. I also really liked the 2200 when I demo'ed a few months ago. I also rode a Klein Aura X at the same time. I liked the Klein better. Trek felt slightly faster but the Klein felt more accurate/tight.

I'd lean (slightly) towards the Specialized over the Trek, if they feel the same to you. You're getting full Ultegra, plus it's got carbon seat stays. You can always add a carbon seat post to the Spec, but you can't add the stays to the Trek. When I was shopping last spring, I noticed a difference in bikes that didn't have carbon stays, but you may not.
Most important thing is fit and feel though. Both are great bikes, get the one that you like better. Are they both at the same shop? I know that buying from the right LBS was a contributing factor in my final decision.
Good luck!

I currently ride the Allez Comp and have nothing negative to say about it. Good bike and excellent setup.

Well, after thinking about it all last night and reading your posts I've decided on the Trek. The carbon seat stays are important to me and the 105 front derailleur is easily upgradable to the ultegra to make it a full ultegra bike. I really like the wheelset and feel the LBS that the Trek is at is a better shop with more personalized service.
Can't wait to get it out on the road and see the difference between it and my old chromo bike.
Thanks for the input everyone :)

DOH! I thought you'd said the Specialized had the carbon stays. Yeah, change my rec to the Trek. IMO the carbon stays (along w/carbon fork and seatpost) go a long ways towards tempering the lively ride of aluminum w/o giving the somewhat "dead" feeling that a full carbon bike can have.
Enjoy your new ride!

I knew what you were recommending anyways and again thanks for the advice. It gets confusing out there now a days with all the many options in frame types and component setups.
