What do you guys think? They both seem like worthy contenders. Both are very good at the TT. Oh, and another thing, I know Millar is in trouble, but the big talk a few months ago was him going for a world hour record. I am just on a world hour record kick today. I can't get enough Boardman and Obree.

On cyclingnews LA said he want's to have a go but is running out of time and wouldn't mind if he never got the chance. I think both Ullrich and Armstrong might be able to break the hour record, but Boardman's 1996 record is probably on the shelf for good. The only rider who could have broken that was Rominger and he retired before giving it the final shot he was planning in 1997. I've read that if Lance tried to go for the '96 record he'd have to produce some ridiculous power to outweigh the shape of his back even in the superman position.

Oh, and Graeme Obree was going to have a go at the record earlier this year but his test didn't go so well and I think he finally put the idea out of his mind for the last time (although he does still ride & win an occasional tt in Scotland and England) because of the mental stress it caused him.

Last but not least. Watch out for British time trial star Michael Hutchinson. He's made a couple of unsuccessful attempts in the past, but apparently he's reached the point where he can produce enough power to break the record and I've heard he may have another go before the end of the year.

I imagine that if he trained specifically for the record Jan could do it. Ullrich prefers steady cadences and he would be able to hammer such a high gear that he could break the record convincingly. At least I'd like to see him make an attempt at it.
