Now this one is simply amazing if you ask me. Why would they even have a fake news conference? I mean, from everything I've read, their response has been great on this disaster, and they are doing good work out there. What the heck were they thinking? The thing I couldn't believe was that they had the ENTIRE audience made up out of FEMA staffers. I'm betting Brownie wishes they had done that for him, and then again, maybe this was one of the things they learned from Katrina.

As we say in the South, "You ain't never lied..."

I mean, look at Bush. Anytime he speaks just about anywhere, you've got "free speech zones" and a thoroughly pre-screened audience that, if allowed, will only toss softball questions at him, or possibly just heap praise on the man. It's pretty sad that they do that. Back in 04, Bush came around my way, and they sent out a call for people who wanted to hear our President speak, and talk about his campaign. I submitted a request for a ticket. I got one. Got to the site, got inside, and was pulled aside by a campaign worker. Apparently, I didn't sign the "pledge" paper, and I was asked what party I affiliated myself. Not being one to want to lie, I told them democrat, and was quickly escorted off the property, and walked to my car by a security guy. Democracy in action folks. And I didn't even do anything. I was attired properly, and was just planning on sitting, listening, and then leaving, but hey, got have a dissenter near the king.

Gawd, what an embarrassment. And those questions -

From the LA Times (http://www.latimes.com/news/printedition/asection/la-na-fema27oct27,1,360166.story):

"Are you happy with FEMA's response so far?" someone asked.
Indeed, the deputy administrator was. "I am very happy with FEMA's response so far," responded Vice Adm. Harvey E. Johnson Jr.

ugh... puh-lease!
