Ok, I hate fighting for an eliptical machine or whatever at the gym so I've decided to get back into cycling since I love it anyways. I still plan on hitting the gym for weight training but I want to run and cycle for my cardio. Does anyone have a good routine for getting back into good bike training form? I don't want to burn myself out the first week with a new bike and thinking I'm Lance. :)

I hate running so if anyone has good training techniques for that I would appreciate it also.

You should be able to cycle at least as long as your typical eliptical (or whatever) routine. Since you've spent a bunch of time in the gym, you already know what an appropriate effort feels like. After you get your butt in shape for the bike saddle (1-2 weeks of regular riding) then you can start adding about 10% per week to your time/mileage on the bike. You can add intensity as well, but just ramp it up comfortably. Don't try to get huge increases quickly, or you'll hurt yourself or overtrain. That's about it.
