I’m getting a 04 or 05 Allez CrMo elite frameset (including headset) in a few days. It’s sliver with white panels. Now, I already have an alu Allez elite, which has a sliver frame and black everything else. The steel Allez is also sliver (with white panels), so I like to throw in a little more color to distinguish from the alu Allez. Parts that I can used to add color are:

Saddle
Bar Tape
Seatpost collar

I know lot of you guys like white around here and it would match the panels, but personally I’m not feeling it (and hate cleaning white anything). My girlfriend is leaning toward red.

I've attach two pics of the two Allez stocked.

If you go black, you'll easily gain approx 2-3mph. Its no coincidence that Lance won his seventh TdF because his Madone was black.
His training bike was blue with white, and compared to the black, it was net gain in speed of 8mph.
Red is a mistake. Its the least aerodynamic color possible.
Proof: cancellara, zabriski tt bikes, rasmussen's colnago,

I kinda like the bone stock brushed aluminum frame with the white panels. I may have to re-paint one of my bikes that way. Thanks for the idea!

If it were me, I'd use a bright contrasting color, e.g. red, bright blue, yellow, teal green, etc. IMO it needs something for contrast, and also IMO, the white or additional silver just isn't doing it.
