It has been a little over 2 months since I purchased this beauty and after reading some threads I thought an update was long over due.

Purchased: 1 Sept
Upgrades: Mavic Ksylium SL wheels; Thomson X2 stem (in flux); handlebars (in flux); Look Keo Sprint pedals

Miles to date: 2100 +

Performance: 10/10

I rode many different bikes prior to purchasing my Kebel, with all telling me that none compared to my C-dale. However, since buying my Kebel a smile has rarely left my face. And when it did, sure enough my Kebel helped me find it again.

The ride quality is unbelievable. She glides downhill, cuts through through flats, and ascends all rises. I left a triple for a double, and my climbing prowess has increased dramatically in large part to efficient power transfer. She is beautiful on short, quick jaunts of 1 hr and oh-so-comfortable on 4 hr plus.

One concern I had was the fact that most of my roads are chipped seal, and I read that CF bikes tend to endure an echo effect while riding over this less than smooth roads. I am happy to say that no such sounds resonates from the Kuota frame, which I credit to the superb craftmanship of the company.

Another indication of the company's concern with product is the placement of clear protective strips on the frame. The strips are located in all areas that cable can potentially rub about the CF coat.

To all, please do not shy away from this wonderful bike due to one bad review that has suspicious origins. I encourage all to test ride one yourself and make your own judgment.

Pretty Sweet? Did you paint it because of a "team scheme"? Either way it looks much better than having the Fiber overlay that looks like electrical tape.

Is this a differnent model thant he one being complaind about in the other thread or did they change drop out design?

Nice to see my thread was high jacked :)

At least it was by a Kuota supporter ;)

Pez - I am highly considering purchasing the Katch bars, what feedback do you have on them? Give me the pros and cons please.

These pics are the pics from the Pez Cycling News Website Review. Is this Charles from Pez? If so, that is so cool to have you on the boards. I love Pez Cycling News.

It's all good. I am just glad to see a positive Kuota thread :)

And thanks for replying, it was helpful info.

why does the original post seem like an ad? this is borderline viral marketing.

if a product/company is good, then it's good. ppl can make judgement for themselves.

don't need all these extra "support," it just makes people wonder why you need a post such as this. if you arent affiliated with the company, i'm sure your original intent was good. and if you are, then you are just hurting your company's image. either way, you are still doing kuota a dis-service.

this kind of stuff is just not needed. this is close to those bike-direct guys.

how many c'dale, trek, specialized, look "support threads" do you see for every one complaint? i'll say it again, if it's good, it's good and ppl CAN judge for themselves.

i may be overreacting but i just hate HATE to see a blatant marketing post like this one. this is a forum for the masses, not for a company.

Why not take the time to look at the posting history of the OP before suggesting he's just a shil for Kuota?

Reading back, you can see the generation of posts that lead him to the bike he's happy with now... He also asks about CR1, System six... Cervelo...

Pretty much looks like a guy wanting to know more about bikes and gear and depending on this place for help.

Your posting history makes you look like a shrill for Kuota - very defensive in regard to this company. Did you get a deal on the bike?

His question was specifically about the Original poster.

I came on the forum specifically to clear up info in another thread about the same company (so yep, Kuota are pretty much all I have posted about) and replied to this one as it related to the same brand, but I can see your concern if you've never known about Pez and didn't pay attention to the other thread... You can draw your own conclusions and are certainly entitled.

Wow, I never thought my post would lead to such negative accusations. I must now say that my respect for this forum as a friendly and helpful site has dramatically decreased. Further, I will now approach all "knowledge" communicated as suspicious with an underlining negative intent.

FYI - look at my posting history and anyone will be able to see that I have inquired about multiple manufacturers. Additionally, I had upgraded form a C-dale by choice.

Question - how is my post so negative/malicious compared to others that provide upgrades regarding bike quality and riding. I read many of these posts to further educate me in bike shopping and considering Kuota is an unknown company I felt it was important to communicate my experience. Geez, guess I wrong there.

Sorry won't ever contribute to the "friendly" community again.

I may have been one of the first ones on this forum to get a Kebel. Here is the thread:

http://forums.roadbikereview.com/showthread.php?t=85884

I based my purchase partially off of Pez Cycling News' favorable reviews of Kuota, along with many others of Kuota bikes in general. Since then I have sent many pics and answered many questions to posters about it. I have nothing but positive things to say about the bike, and I am in no way affiliated with Kuota, or any other bike manufacturer.

I appreciate PezTech posting on here, as well as the guy that has had the problems. It is an open forum, and with that comes skewed info from all sides. In my decision to make a purchase as impt. and big as a bike, I read as much info as possible, both paid and unpaid, as well as talk to people I know well and trust. If anyone feels that someone is doing viral marketing either for or against, it's probably best to just write it off as such and move on. This finger pointing gets boring. Why waste the time when we really should be talking about bikes, training, racing... you know, the things we love, that cause us immense physical pain and we can't get enough of.

Moderators Note:

Bad post someone if you think they are shilling and we will review it. Do not play "junior internet mod". Its annoying and pointless.

Believe it or not, people do like their bikes. There often is a whole lot of confirmational bias, wishful thinking and even some spending based self-delusion, but most posts are people genuinely stoked about their bikes. Heck the WW forum has raised this sort of post to fetish levels. Nothing wrong with it.

Boys (and girls) and their toys.

Sadly, I have sold my race bike, so I have no pictures of a shiny race bike to semi-ironically post here. So please pretend I did.

Wow, I never thought my post would lead to such negative accusations.

well if you re-read your op, it should make sense. i'm not accusing you of anything. i just think you are doing the company a dis-service in light of what is happening in the other thread. like i said, if a company/product is good, then it's good. why do you need a specific "support" thread? there's been reviews written and positive feedback from other members about kuota. do you think other members can't make judgement for themselves and believe everything that's written on the board? it's just bad timing and makes ppl, at least me, wonder what's the purpose?

and the language that you used, it's like a commercial. seriously, all those adjectives and exaggeration...

Upon some reflection and a nice ride, I have come to realization that I owe this forum as a whole an apology. The majority of members are kind and helpful, some go beyond all expectations to help others (thanks gumdad).

Having said that, I do have several parting statements/requests
1. Please consider the context including post history prior to creating your own post (e.g.,the statement that she helped me find my smile referred to a prior thread I had create asking for help b/c I lost my riding mojo)

2. Before you slam the words in a post consider the context as well your own personally history

3. I request a moderator to please delate all threads that I have started. If my words bring suscipion and mistrust amongst cyclists, I do not them to be read. I have always considered myself as a member of the cycling community, honoring basic codes such as offering help to a fellow cyclist in times of need (e.g., flat) and to share the load (e.g., create draft).

Thank you.
