I enjoy reading the ride reports you guys post up here and as luck would have it, somehow two hours of free time fell into my lap last weekend. It was a cold and dark day, so I decided to just ride as slowly as I pleased and take some pictures.

This is 5th Ave. looking south at the Verizano Narrows Bridge - the one in Saturday Night Fever. There is a bike lane, but most people pay not attention to it.

I headed out through Sunset Park, one of Brooklyn's lesser known neighborhoods. It does have a couple of semi interesting things though. I can't help but chuckle going past the Jackie Gleason Depot. Also, it has a pretty good view of New York harbor. That's lower Manhattan on the left, and Jersey City on the right. Finishing street repairs is still a novel concept around here, however.

I finally wound up at the 68th street pier in Bay Ridge. It was cold, blowy, and no one was around. Here's another view of the harbor, again with Manhattan on the right and Jersey City on the left. Also, here's the opposite view, looking out the narrows toward the ocean. Finally, a shot of some gorgeous Brooklyn brownstones. These ones are in Sunset Park....

Nice cityscapes.

Empty too, I bet that is rare.

Two thumbs up.

We don't get many Brookly reports.
You should do some more.
