hi all....i did run a search without much luck (ie. the pasela is not appropriate)
i'm currently running ritchey speedmax CX tires and love them. my commute is about 40% gravel/singletrack and the rest is either roads or MUT. i also ride in the snow until i absolutely must use the studded, and do offroad training rides a couple times a week.
the CX tires are simply wearing too fast!
is there a tire that will allow me to do offroad training rides/snow rides/paved commuting, that don't wear down so fast? or am i dreaming? don't need CX racers, i already have those...
thanks!

Michelin transworld sprint. Very similar to the speedmax but more durable. reflective sidewall too. I've had these for a year and use them for a little commuting and training rides (off road and on)

They are tough, long lasting tires. I never wore one out and got very few flats in them. I put them on bikes I gave to the Catholic Worker House about 5 years ago and for all I know they're still riding on them.
I thought they worked very well on dry dirt or going through winter road sand, but not that well in mud.

anything with an aggressive tread is going to wear fast under use like that. try a trekking tire with less tread than a cx tire but more than a touring tire. I have specialized infinitys for my surly that held up through last winter and early spring that Ill probably put back on in a month or so.

I ride through a bit of dirt and gravel every day with Conti City Contacts and they work great and are crazy durable.

I've used these for the past year. Make sure it's the DELTA and not the regular speedmax. 700 x 35c. All conditions, all seasons. I've been very happy with them. About $16 per tire.

my conti top contacts are working great so far - my new route to work is ~70% dirt trail and they hook of great in the dirt so far. Actually used them on a fire break road last weekend as well.

you do have to be a little bit less aggressive in the corners when on dirt, but I was surprised as how close they actually were to my cross tires for grip.

Been running the WTB All Terrainasaurus with little complaint. Maybe a little too slow rolling for you though.
