Hey,
I recently acquired NOS three frames, all bearing the name bates on the downtube, purple, blue and red in color, solid with painted accents on the lugs. The frames I am told are touring frames, the forks have a bent from, reminiscent of pinarello's new carbon forks, with rack mounts. The lugs are super intricate and really beutiful. I dont have pictures now but will try and post some soon. I showed them to a friend and he claims that they are from the 60s and that bates are only found in meusems now, wondering about value as well as any other information.
Looks a bit like this,

Let me get this straight,

"The tube should be thicker at the point of maximum bending movement and may be reduced in thickness toward the ends."

Are the tubes reverse butted?

They're made of columbus Master Xlite tubing. They're Master-bates frames.
