I just picked up my Roubaix and I love it! My only concern is the cable route on the down tube. Should it cross? When I ride I can hear the cables buzzing on the frame and against eachother. There are no rubber doughnuts on the cable. This seems wrong to me. Anyone have an opinion on this?

They should be straight.... and NOT rubbing on ANYTHING.... take it back to the LBS and have them fix it... If you have the Comp or Pro (carbon frame) you have to be extra carefull not to pull on the cable you WILL rip the guides out... and it is a NON warrenty item. All the carbon roubaix frames have the notice in the box, but I don't anyone has seen them.

I will take it back first thing tomorrow. I have not put any miles on the machine from fear of damaging the frame. I don't want to tincker around with it myself. Thanks for the info.

I had the same problem for 2 weeks. Then I cut a doughnut w. a hobby knife and placed it on the right cable w/o dismounting anything. (So much for the "Where vibrations go to die" ;-))

The doughnut will do the job.
