Kinetic brags about how it wants to protect the IBD and that their authorized dealers have a minimum advertised price for their products. For 07 that price was $275.00

There was a post a few weeks ago about a problem with a warranty issue because the buyer bought a Kinetic trainer on Ebay for less than the minimum advertised pricing that Kinetic asks their authorized dealers to abide by.

The clamping mechanism is an older style, but it's a minor change so you got a good deal!

Most manufacturers allow discounting below MSRP for old models.

i think it's the 2007 model

Well even if it is the 2007 model, I'm still psyched to have gotten it for $229.99. I can live with the minor changes I missed out on on the 2008 model. :)

I just went to my local REI snagged up the last one they had in stock, the display model and they knocked $30 more off, so it was $200 bucks!! Just finished my spinerval workout from the dvd that came with it, super smooth trainer!! And getting it from REI if something does go wrong they'll replace it...

I received mine this past week and love it. I ordered a second one today for my wife. Ended up having to use a 15% off coupon and saved around 45$. Not as good as the first deal, but it is still fully worth it for such a great product!
