The last 10-15 years, Ive worn a size 10 shoe since its the only thing that fits, this is usually with a good amount of space in the toe area. Went to a running store yesterday and got measured for the first time and have learned that I'm a euro sized 40 2E-4E depending on the shoe.

Right now I'm wearing Specialized Pro Carbon shoes in 43, however my feet tend to go numb after 2 hours, I'm guessing its because of the width.

Any suggestions for cycling shoes for wider feet?

Thanks

I was going to recommend Specialized after reading your subject line, but I see that's not working for you. Sidi Mega, maybe?

Sidi Megas actually feel tighter than the specialized shoes.

Sorry, that was my best shot. Hope you have better luck after people get fed up with their families and start checking in again. . .

One guaranteed answer to your dilema is Rocket7. www.rocket7.com.

They do custom shoes in a dizzying array of sizes and widths (like my 49EEE) - and can even make you shows from a plaster cast of your feet.

I find them far lighter and tons stiffer then the Sidi Megas I used before and now use them exclusively.

They are a tad spendy however...

Northwaves are pretty wide - recently got a pair of Aerators which fit my E foot very well. Better fit than Sidi Megas for me. But, don't know if wide enough for what you describe (2E-4E) - try on before buy if at all possible...

I wear wide shoes. I've had Sidis, and didn't like them too well. I switched back to Shimanos. IME, their shoes run a little wide anyway. I like the 151W. I think the make other models in wide sizes as well.

I've tried the Sidi Megas, the Shimano Wide shoes and the Specialized shoes, and none of them fit my wide feet. Apart from the custom shoes I had made by a local company, the best fit I have had is Northwave Aerator shoes.

I also have wide feet and used to suffer from both hotfoot & numbness. I had Sidi Megas and spd pedals that needed to be adjusted by my mechanic. The cleat position took a while to dial in perfect, to eliminate this problem.

Years later switched to Specialized S works since the shop didn't have the Sidi's I wanted in stock. I found that they were wider in the toe box than the Sidi Mega's and I also changed pedal system to Look Keo's. I find the larger platform & the carbon sole shoe eliminated all the numbness problems. Also gives more power transfer than the spd's. Just my 2c!

Are you sure you aren't wearing shoes that are too small?

I wear a size 43 Shimano cycling shoe and it fits great. For reference, I also wear about a size 9 running, tennis, basketball, etc shoe.

Nikes, Shimanos, and Northwaves are the widest normal shoes I could find.

Carnac's are well known for their wide toe box. I am a 2EE in a running shoe and the Carnac's I wear fit great. I have been using them for road and mountain for over a decade. The problem will be finding someone that has them to try on. The best pricing by far is from XXcylces (internet from France).

Perhaps the toe box isn't the only issue - you may have a really tall instep (height of your forefoot above your arch) which causes fit issues not directly about width. I have had great luck with Megas and have a high instep as well as wide feet (size 44 for my 8.5 EEEEE flippers). Shoe volume comes in three dimensions, not just length and width.

Good luck,
Bill

The ones that come in wide are the most comfortable I've used for my 4-E high instep feet.

With my 4E's, I wear Specialized....I did try some Sidi Mega's that were quite promising, but an ugly shoe until you get to the top of their line. I also have some Shimano Wide 215's that are OK as well...
