Just picked up my new specialized tarmac sl frame and noticed some noise coming from the inside of the frame. It sounds like a piece of wire slapping against the down tube always in the same spot. I wouldn't think this is normal but you never know. Has anyone come across something like this or know anything of it. Is it a process thing while making the frame or a bad luck thing for me. Any feedback would be appreciated.

What do you mean? Do you mean you pick it up and shake it and you feel/hear a ping like something is hitting inside the tube? If so, I do not think that is normal. Remove any bolts (bottle cage) from the frame and see if the noise is till there. I would be a little concerned. I not sure, but I do not think that should be happening. That's a lot of money for a nice frame like the one you just bought so make sure you are completely happy. Sorry if that doesnt help but I'm pretty sure that is not normal.

I don't have anything bolted on and I then bolted cages to see if it was the thread where the bolts go thru and it still makes the noise. I was told by someone else that sometimes there is carbon left and it could be hanging in there, not sure about that. The frame was an upgrade from a previous model (warranty). I will talk to my lbs who have been very helpful up to this point. I just have to wait til friday (out of town). Thanks for your reply.
p.s. I would also think that once built up it would be very hard to shake a bike that quick back and forward to try and get it to slap around in there.
