I've been looking at the IRO wheels for a while, just waiting around. I pulled the trigger tonight and ordered a set of the hubs, laced to some gold Velocity Deep-V rims.
Does anyone have these hubs? If you do, how are they? I searched but didn't really pull up any threads about them.
So, just wonderin' if I did a good or bad thing.
Thanks for any help!

New bike stuff is never a bad thing (read: I'm useless and can't actually help you)

IRO hubs are the same as the ubiquitous Formula hubs. Great hub for the price, pretty solid, sealed bearings so you can just replace if/when they wear out. Search for info on the Formulas and you should find more reviews, they are the standard budget fixed hub.
As long as the spoke tension is fine they'll serve you well for some time.

Great wheels. Unless things have changed IRO has Velocity build his wheels.. I own two sets and they are bullet proof

Great! And thanks for the info about the Formula deal...I'd seen a couple of things that seemed to infer that, but I wasn't sure. After I searched for Formula hubs, I got a few more hits.
Dave, I'm not sure who builds them. IRO has their own wheelsets now, with house-brand rims, but they still sell their hubs laced to Deep Vs. I paid the extra cash partially for the looks, I admit...I wanted to keep the gold ano look that my current wheels have.
Now I just need to order me a new crankset and BB, and I'll be all set to rebuild the fixie! This'll be a great winter project. I might just have to get the bike repainted, with all the new purty stuff on there...

The house brand wheels are actually unlabled Velocity razor rims....

Really. Oh well, the Deep Vs will look nicer, I guess.

I ordered a fixed gear kit and wheels, which were velocity built fusions laced to IRO hub, last spring. About 1000+ miles of fixed gear fun without issue. Spoke tension seems quite high and the wheels are true after plenty of riding on the 'cobbles'. (lots of old rough brick streets downtown)

Well, Tony cancelled my order 'cuz they were out of stock of the gold rims (dunno why he didn't just wait). Told me to reorder in mid December, he'll have his own gold rims. Ok.
