I find the medium size DynoLites (PolyLites) have resistance that closely matches the road. Do a search of the forums for Kreitler (spelled correctly) for further discussions.

have 4.5"d. rollers, which were recommended to me for learning.....excellent, so far.
The smaller the dia., the greater the resistance.
Here's some info:

Hope these help.

I also have the medium size Kreitler PolyLites and they're great. They took about a half an hour to get the hang of and within a week I was real comfortable on them.

2 thumbs up!

I have the smallest diam. Kreitlers and they are awesome. It was the first set (and only) that I've ever ridden and I found them tough to learn on. I've got the hang of it and wouldn't go back. I typically have to ride in the small ring (42?) up front to have enough gear selection for an hour's ride. They're pretty tough on my skinny legs.
