Cant wait for it to be delivered next week. I am switching from a Look 585, which I loved, but its a tad too small for me. The Tarmac specs are better suited for me.

This is the one I ordered.

Anyone else have an 08 expert yet, and what are your impressions?

I see they've gone back to a fairly conventional design for the 08. I have the 07 Expert which is great but I see they've removed the "Zertz" which were always a bit of a gimmick IMO. Still it's as smooth as silk to ride so perhaps there's something in it? Be interesting to see how the 08 compares.

Nice to see they've gone away from Mavic wheels also - this was also a weakness of this bike - but Fulcrum 5's are pretty low-end too. Still would make good training wheels. Personally I haven't had any problems with my Mavics and even crashed at 70kph (50mph) in the weekend during a race and they're still true - unlike me with a broken rib and lots of skin missing. In any case I've got to congratulate Specialized for making such a robust frame that stood up to cartwheeling down the road with hardly a scratch! :D

Dunno bout the colour scheme however.

Ive checked on the Fulcrums and they are good wheels, just not real light. I have a set that is 300 grams lighter, but Ill ride these for training wheels. I like the new paint. It looks much better in person then the pic shows.

Hello all...

Yeah they definitely lost the Zerts in the Tarmac line (except seatpost), but it is more that that they are moving the models down as the years go. So that '08 Expert is the same, frame wise, as my '07 Pro. So Zert frameset Tarmacs have dropped off.

Rode the '07 Tarmac Pro versus the Roubaix (with all itz zerts)...and I could tell slightly a difference in buzz on the chipseal I was riding. Probably would me more on a 100k then the 20 I test rode. Comfy, but not dead...that is how I would put the Tarmac.

So congrats on the new bike. I love the paint color. I would have gotten it myself if I had not gotten my Quckstep color frameset uber cheap. Enjoy the sweet ride!
