Hello all. It looks like I will be moving to Sacramento in the next few weeks for law school. I have never been to the area and I have no clue where to live (which neighborhoods are nicer than others). I am going to call the school to see if they can help, but maybe one of you could offer insight. The school is near Fifth Avenue and 32nd Street and I would prefer to live in a single bedroom apartment with parking, that is relatively inexpensive (i'll be a student with loans!!). Any ideas? I'll also be researching craigslist. Thanks in advance.

Pardon me for also posting this in the General Forum.

Cheers,
Jordan

Jordan:

I went to McGeorge too. Congrats.

Look in midtown and east sacramento. Anywhere "downtown" is fine. The "pocket" area is alright too, but a longer drive.

I know a guy renting a cottage. My boss. In east sac. It's sweet.

I would agree with Jed. Land Park, pocket area, Natomas and mid town are ok. I would also include Roseville or anything north of the city but that is too far from McGeorge.

The pocket area is ok but the only problem is that you have the gang bangers, thugs and druggies driving, walking or riding over from meadowview or florin to commit their crimes and then driving back to franklin or wherever they are living.
