Typing from Borrego, Ca. Been here about 2 weeks, riding most every day in my shorts, with just a windbreaker at the summits of the climbs. Today, first poor weather, with some rain up high and wind..Being spoiled now, I took the day off from the bike.
On the trip south, I climbed the one summit, near Bishop, Ca., that I skipped during the Everest Challenge race in Oct...Went over 10,000' elevation from 4000'---again in just shorts and a windbreaker for the descent..that was over 2 weeks ago and I think there would be a few feet of snow today at that summit.
Rumor has it that Floyd Landis is here in this town, riding. Haven't run into him yet, though.
Planning on racing a few masters events over the winter months around So Cal and Arizona. Winter and spring are the main racing seasons in Arizona and the competition is pretty strong down this way.
