I am considering a Trek Madone 5.2 performance or 4.7 depending on a few financial situations. I will be coming from a 60cm Cannondale CAAD5. Has any one made the switch from a 60cmm C-Dale to a new Madone? If so did you get the 60cm or 62cm Madone? Thanks.

You could likely work on either, since all bikes have quite a few adjustments available. If your saddle height is 80cm or more, go with the 62. Less, go with the 60.

I think the madone performance geometry will not be as aggressive as the cannondale. that said, if you want to keep the same geometry, you may go with a bigger frame - i.e the 62. But...just check the top tube lengths for both bikes and that should give you a pretty good idea.

Thanks for the replies. Cannondale 60cm has a horizontal top tube of 59cm. Headtube of 190mm. Hopefully the shop will have both sizes in stock to test but this is doubtful. I don't really like the looks of a long headtube so I am leaning towards an 60cm. My saddle height is 80.5cm. I probably would be fine on either bike. It always seems as though I fall between sizes. If this were the old madone sizing then 62cm would be right on.

Don't forget about the 5.2 Pro - you may prefer the 30mm shorter headtube.

With a saddle height of 80.5 cm it looks like you have a choice of a 58 or 60 cm in the new Madone (see link below). The 58 has an effective TT of 57.2, the 60 a TT of 58.5.
