I just wanted to share my first experience, especially for the newbies and for those who may be dealing with the same guy as I. Last week I bought a 2003 Giant OCR 1 (essentially new condition, maybe 200 miles) from Sean Rocheleau, on this site. This is my first quality bike purchase and Sean was very helpful, as I went into this pretty much knowing nothing about bicycling. Although I wish I would have haggled and still don't know if I paid a good price, the cost was $750 plus $55 shipping, paid with a cashier's check.

The bike was shipped by his LBS and arrived just fine. I'm loving this bike, which is my first road bike. The bike was supposed to be "complete," which I assumed included the pedals in the photo Sean sent. No pedals. I bought my own because emails and phone calls have gone unanswered. Oh well.

So from one newbie to another, do some pricing research and make sure everything is explicit. Oh, and don't expect anything after the transaction is completed. In conclusion I'm happy with the bike anyway and have learned a lot already about this whole cycling thing. :)

PS: Dave_Stohler, because I figure you'll have something to say, I think my motive for posting is obvious. And I'm aware that this is my first post. Thanks.

Typically pedals aren't included in used bike buys unless stated so. Because we all have our own preferences in pedals and usually our shoes are set-up with cleats for them, and we have the pedals, bikes come pedal-less.

Hate to disagree with Dave but if the pedals are shown in the picture and not omitted by text they should have been shipped. I agree with Dave that this would be unusual but a picture is a picture and the term was "complete".
