What pedals are the most adjustable for the tension release mechanism? I'm running look 396's and I've been clipping out in sprints. I was wondering if anyone who was running spd-sl had any opinions. Or anyone that was running anything else that had good luck with them.
Thanks,
AJ
No tension adjustment needed (or avaialble). Never accidently clipped out of one.

In most cases, people who have accidental release from Look pedals will finally admit that their cleats are worn or damaged. Try a new pair of cleats before you move on to more expensive solutions.

I've been running them for about 6 months now. Not sure if they are the "most" adjustable in tension but I'll give you a recap. The allen screw atop the rear release has a total of three full revolutions for you to dial in a tension that is comfy for you. They come from the factory at the easiest setting which was way too loose for me so I took a full turn on both sides after about a mile. It produced about the same release tension I needed to release the Time Equipes I had just replaced so I left it alone. Prior to the deathride this year, I took a quarter turn on both sides since I knew I'd be standing a lot during the day. The difference was dramatic and is almost too stiff. I'll most likely back them off in a while. Don't think I'll ever tighten them the full monty either. I thought for the price/weight, they were a better deal than the new Time Impacts. I used the Equipes for about 10 years and really liked them but the D/A is the only modern pedal I've tried.

Time to replace the cleats most likely. Much cheaper than buying a whole new pedal too.
