Well, I've searched the threads for my specific problem, but haven't quite found the answer to my question. Sorry if I missed the pertinent thread, but here goes:

I need to switch a Bontrager x-lite wheel with Campy-splined 9spd freehub over to 10spd SRAM/Shimano spacing. Most of the cassette conversions I've found are for switching from Shimano to Campy.

Here's what I know so far:
a) The Bontrager race x-lite wheels use DT hubs.

b) I tried switching freehub bodies from another (newer) Bontrager race x-lite Shimano equipped wheel, but they weren't compatible (double seals vs. single seals).

c) The J-Tek solution won't work because my goal is to be able to use these wheels as back-up wheels for two other bikes that have SRAM 10spd drivetrains.

d) I have a few Campy 9-spd cassettes floating around, so I have some loose cogs to play with.

Will a 10spd chain work with 9spd cogs with 10spd spacing, or are they too thick?

If you are reading this C-40, from what I've read on these forums, you seem to have the most knowledge concerning the actual spacing of the cassettes. What would you suggest? (And if anyone else has useful info on this subject feel free to chime in!)

Thanks for any help!

There are offbrand loose cogs like Miche that can be shimano spaced, but the shifting might be disappointing. Campy Veloce loose cogs could also be shimano spaced, but you would still want 10 speed cogs to get the cog timing to be matched. You would need 2.25mm spacers. I'd contact Bontrager and try to get a Shimano splined cassette body.

Yeah, after more poking around this looks like the best long-term option. Otherwise I still need to buy a 10 spd. Campy cassette and then get the correct spacers to switch over to Shimano spacing.
I'll try to get more info from Bontrager regarding switching freehub bodies.
Thanks!
