I just thought I'd share my commute this morning with the fixies out there. It's been quite some time since I rode my fixie, and it's been in pieces for the past 6 months. Lately, I've just been jonesin' for some "rides" as opposed to training/racing. My fixed gear enables me to nail that mentallity from the moment I first clip in to the arrival back at my door. I picked up a slightly bigger front chainring (44/18 or 65") which was pretty good on the decents this morning. I'm impressed that Doug rides 18% grades on a 66"....good on ya!
Anyway, I'm looking forward to some SS cross' racing this fall, but for now, I can't wait to get my "fix" on the ride home.
Anybody else take time off from fixed gear riding only to return and realize how much they like(d) it? One more thing I love are the epic traffic light trackstands!
