My LBS has a Decibel Factory Team Colors (Red/White) helmet that I really dig. That really the best color that I like. I know the 2D got recalled and will be released soon I think in Feb. I was just wondering if it's worth the wait and extra dollars to get the 2D. What do you guys think? Same helmet only lighter? Should I just get the Decibel and save my money?

That's what I was thinking. My Decibel sze md weighs 290gr and looks a lot better than the d2 which weighs 225.

The 2D is noticably lighter and the retention system is more comfortable too. I can't wait to get my back from Specialized. Plus, the 2D is about as sweet looking as a helmet can get. Is worth the extra $$ versus the Decibel? Well..... it's only money right. What else are you going to do with your cash, let you wife spend it?

LOL rollin...well, I bought the Decibel b/c the LBS gave me a good price on it plus I just really like the Factory Team colors (red/white) more than anything. Took it for a 32 mile ride just an hour ago. Fits awesome. Didnt even feel it. I love it. The 2D will have to wait one year or two.

What's LBS and how much did you pay if I may ask?

I have a propero... it weighs 285g on my scale. I like!

IS that next in line from the d2? Because my Decibel weighs 290 and my scale is accurate.

I dunno where it fits in the spectrum of Specialized helmets. It's like $100. It weighs 285 and was marked as such on the helmet. (The only time where claimed weight=real weight that I have encountered.)

Well, if I order from the site it's $170 plus shipping. There is only one LBS in my area. Next closest one is 250 miles away. So there isnt much competition here like some of you might have in your area. But I bought it at Bicycle World in McAllen, Texas for $155. That's probably not a great deal to many of you guys out there but for my area it's the best I can do. I really like the helmet and color scheme. Here's a pic of the helmet.

I have the a New Decibel ( in Team colors ) and I love it, paired that bad boy up with new Miura Optics ( from Specialized ) and it is a sweet combination. Not that looks are everything, but they match my Specialized S-Works (Red /White ) to a T .
