After having a fractured knee cap and being a sofa-slug for a little over two months I've been on the trainer or riding easy(a least trying to) for the last two weeks. I can see a reversal of the atrophy of my right quad, size is heading back in the right direction as is strength, firmness, etc. The one place I don't see any return to normalcy(?) is that muscle right above the knee on the inside, that teardrop or pear shaped muscle which used to be fairly prominent. Come to think of it, the whole inside part of the quad is lacking. Any way to incorporate these muscle more? Thanks

There may be some specific exercises you could could find in the gym to build up this muscle, but it really is "the bicycle muscle" so your best bet is to just ride. FYI, it will actually take a couple of years (or more) to fully bring the muscle back from the atrophy of being in a cast for 8 weeks. If you wear tight jeans, you may be able to tell that your injured leg is smaller for several years. That said, your best recovery will be obtained by riding the bike. It's the best PT you can do.

Ride more. Go get PT from a Physical therapist, they teach you how to correctly rebuild yourself after an injury.
